Applying to the Land Management program

What steps do we take to apply?

1. Contact the ILC, discuss your proposal and register your intent to submit an application for land management assistance.  Freecall 1800 818 490. Winyudwa land management application process

Speaking with the ILC early in the development of a project will give you time to collect all the relevant information and documentation that you will need to submit.

2. Complete an application, demonstrating that your organisation and the proposed project meet all of program criteria listed in the Handbook.

You should familiarise yourself with the contents of the Handbook. Application forms and program handbooks are available for download below. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

3. Submit your application, including all supporting documents and attachments. Applications must be received by close of business, 30 June 2010.

Training and Planning Projects

Key Requirement:

Training and Planning projects aim to build the capacity of Indigenous groups to sustainably manage their land and achieve benefits. The ILC assists with funding training programs or property management plans.

Application Process:

Applications are subject to an annual call.  The call for applications closes 30 June each year.  The 2010 call for applications is now closed.

Sample application forms and handbooks are available for your information.  These documents are not current and will be replaced when the 2011 call for applications opens.

 

Property-based Projects

Key Requirement:

Property-based Projects assist Indigenous groups with infrastructure works and land management projects on their land. As is the case with all ILC-supported projects, Indigenous benefits must be demonstrated.

Application Process:

Applications are subject to an annual call.  The call for applications closes 30 June each year.  The 2010 call for applications is now closed.

Applicants that pass the ILC's assessment enter into a formal contract with the ILC. This document specifies the responsibilities that the ILC and the successful applicant must adhere to, including monitoring and reporting requirements.
